12/28/18 - Adverse Action Improvements

Hello!

We wanted to let everyone know about some exciting updates from ProScreening.

First, your company's billing contact or main contact may have received an email today from our accounting team on some invoicing/billing system changes. This is a real and wonderful email and we are excited for these changes to help our clients streamline their billing and payment experience.

Next, ProScreening is excited to announce that Pennsylvania MVR's are beginning to see a quicker turn-around-time. The state still requires a specific release form but once submitted, a new process is seeing a reduction in the previous 10-14 business day timeframe. This is a result of ProScreening going to the state DMV directly to negotiate a process us that allows us to utilize the applicant's SSN in combination with their release form to expedite the orders.

Finally, ProScreening has always followed the FCRA guidelines for Pre-Adverse and Adverse Action letters. Effective tomorrow, we will be adding in all of the state-specific requirements as well. As a company, we want to provide our clients with the best in compliance best practices and procedures and adding this process will do so. This new process for the letters will include an optional form to be completed by the applicant called the "Criminal Conviction Questionnaire". It is an electronic form and they are advised to provide it to the potential employer directly. This new form is meant to aid you and your company when completing the individual assessment of the applicant. Again, this form is completely optional for the applicant to provide you.

As far as the letters themselves, most changes do not require further action from you beyond ordering it as you have before. However, there are some states do require some extra information from your company in order to send the letter, but the ProScreening Client Services Team will email the report requestor with the request, should that need arise. This won't be something extra for your company to remember.

One last note about the letters, if you order through an ATS, the samples in that system have the federal requirements but not the new state ones. These state requirements will generate from the jurisdiction your applicant resides in, which is provided to us through their authorization. Should you need a specific copy of an applicant's Pre-Adverse and/or Adverse Action letter, we can always send it to you via email.

Please, as always, let us know if you have any questions or concerns regarding these updates.
