Below are the different types of background check statuses in the system and what they mean.
A). Awaiting Applicant Authorization
This status indicates that a request for a background check has been sent to the applicant, but the applicant has not yet authorized the background check.
B). Background Check Authorized
This status indicates that the applicant has authorized the background check. The background check is ready to be processed.
**Note - If the status of the report has stayed in this status for more that 3 hours you may want to contact us and ask about the status of the report. If the applicant chooses to decline the electronic signature process, the report will stay in this status until the hand signed form is received from the applicant.
This status indicates that the background check is currently being processed. When the status is listed as ‘Processing’, you can view the pending report by clicking on the “View Report in Progress” button. Refer to section 3 of this guide for more information.
This status indicates that the background check is complete and ready for review. The user who requested the background check report will receive an email notification that the report is complete.
This status indicates that a report has expired. This status is displayed when a background check request expires before the applicant has authorized a background check. The background check invitation is active for 1-14 days depending on your settings.
The applicant will no longer have access to the background check invitation when the status is listed as expired. If a background check is still needed, you may order a new background check by repeating the ordering process. There are no charges for a background check until we begin processing the background check.
